Alpha

Examine the Meaning of Life

Have you ever wondered if there is more to life? Maybe you’re not interested in Christianity at all. Or you are an experienced Christian but have forgotten the fundamentals of why you believe what you believe. Alpha has been such a remarkable experience for the thousands who have attended this 9-week class and retreat weekend at Hope. Enjoy dinner, worship, live teaching, and small group conversation on topics related to Christianity in a safe and fun atmosphere.

In addition to the regular schedule, participants are strongly encouraged to join the Holy Spirit Retreat at the Hope West Des Moines campus on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Course Teachings

Alpha is an opportunity to investigate the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening way. No matter your background, whether you’re wondering about Christianity for the first time, revisiting your faith, or just want to have an honest conversation, you can benefit from the Alpha course. Great friendships have formed, historically documented evidence is presented, and questions are answered.

The class offers teaching on key questions including:

  • Is Christianity boring, untrue or irrelevant?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • How can I be sure of my faith?
  • Why and how do I pray?
  • Who is the Holy Spirit?
  • Does God heal today?
  • How can I make the most out of the rest of my life?

Take the adventure. Explore your questions and the meaning of life.
